NCDXF Privacy & Security Policy

The Northern California DX Foundation ("The Foundation") is committed to protecting the privacy and security of your personal information. Because of this, the Foundation has formulated our privacy and security policy. We value your trust and want you to understand what information we collect, how we use it, and with whom we share it. Section I: Collection and Use of Information

We obtain information about you from a variety of sources to administer your records, process your transactions, assist us in developing new ways to serve you, aid you in learning more about us, and fulfill any legal and regulatory requirements. These sources may include:

  • Information we receive from you on your application or other forms (for example, your name, Amateur Radio call sign, address and email address).
  • Information about your transactions with us (such as joining, renewing membership or ordering supplies)
  • Information from other internet sources (such as QRZ.com, hamcall.net, and the FCC database)
  • Information obtained from other sources to verify representations made by you

Section II: Sharing of Information

It is our commitment to offer you quick, convenient service when transacting business with the Foundation. For this purpose, we may share non-public personal information (such as necessary to process a financial transaction) as permitted by law and in accordance with this policy. The financial service providers, with whom we have agreements, are bound to confidentiality provisions which protect your account information. Examples of service providers with whom we may share information include:

  • Companies that assist us in completing the financial transaction you have requested.
  • Companies that perform marketing or other services on our behalf, such as mail houses and newsletter publishers.

In situations where your information is shared with third parties, they are not permitted to use the information for any purpose other than to assist our servicing of your records or financial transaction, provide you with information about the Foundation (for example, the newsletter), or as permitted by law. We do not sell your information to third party marketers. Further, we will not share information collected about former members except as may be permitted or required by law.

Section III: Security of Information

We restrict access to personal information about you to those individuals in the Foundation who have a specific purpose in utilizing your data. Those individuals are made aware and trained in the importance of maintaining confidentialy and member privacy. We also maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that protect your personal information.

Your payment and personal information over the Internet is secured by means of our Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software. It is the industry standard for secure commerce transactions. It encrypts all of your personal information, including credit card number, name, and address, so that it cannot be read over the Internet.

Section IV: Accuracy of Information

We strive to ensure that our records contain accurate information about you. If you see any inaccuracies in your dealings with us, please contact via email to webmaster@ncdxf.org. We will promptly investigate and make any necessary changes to update your records.

Section V: Changes to Our Policy

We reserve the right to revise our privacy & security policy as our needs change or as the law requires. If we revise the policy, we will provide this information on the Foundation web site.

Section VI: Safeguarding Your Privacy

You have a responsibility to safeguard your financial information:

  • Use caution when disclosing your account numbers, etc. to other persons. If someone calls you and explains that the call is on behalf of the Northern California DX Foundation, do not divulge such information. Our treasurer and his staff will have access to your information and will not need to ask for it.

Section VII: Refund Policy

Because we consider your contribution as a charitable donation, it is non-refundable.
